Top 20 vs top 30
What ranking depth means when configuring a Google search engine in RankWatch.
When you attach Google to a project, you choose how deep RankWatch looks into the SERP for each keyword check.
Depth explained
| Depth | Meaning |
|---|---|
| Top 20 | Positions 1–20 are resolved. Keywords beyond 20 may appear as unranked / out of range. |
| Top 30 | Positions 1–30 are resolved. Slightly more coverage for deeper competitive terms. |
Deeper checks can use more quota per keyword run. Prefer top 20 when most keywords already rank on page one or two; use top 30 when you need visibility into page-three movement.
What it does not change
Depth does not change your keyword list, competitors, or report cadence by itself — it only changes how far each check job reads the SERP.
