Supported AI engines explained (ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini, Perplexity, Google AI Mode)
Which AI engines RankWatch can track today, how engine × country contexts work, and what is not available yet.
AI visibility tracking creates one AI search context per engine × country. Prompts under that context are checked on a schedule and scored for mentions, citations, and outcomes.

Engines you can select
When AI Visibility on your package is on, the AI wizard can include:
| Engine | Notes |
|---|---|
| ChatGPT | OpenAI assistant answers for the selected country |
| Claude | Anthropic assistant answers |
| Gemini | Google Gemini assistant answers |
| Perplexity | Perplexity answers (often citation-heavy) |
| Google AI Mode | Google AI Mode answers — supported when AI tracking is entitled |
Locations are country-level (no city requirement like some SEO Google setups).

Google AI Mode is the supported Google AI engine. Do not confuse it with the in-app AI Overview / Rankings dashboard. Prefer Google AI Mode when you need a Google AI surface.
Practical tips
- Track the engines your buyers actually use; each engine × country pair adds trackings and credit use.
- Brand name + variations are required for mention detection across engines.
- Compare engines on AI Overview / Rankings and the AI engines table (tracked prompts, you-appear %, avg mention rank, top-answer %).
