How RankWatch metrics work
Date ranges, compare windows, ranking keywords, and how KPI strips relate to table columns.
RankWatch metrics share a few rules so Overview scorecards, Rankings tables, and reports stay consistent.
Date range and compare windows
Most dashboards use a selected date range plus an optional compare period. Period deltas (↑/↓ %) compare the current window to the previous window of equal length unless a screen documents otherwise.
Snapshot vs daily series
- Scorecards / KPI strips often show a snapshot for the end of the range (or an aggregated window).
- Charts show daily (or job) series inside the range.
Ranking keywords
Ranking keywords means keywords with an organic rank in positions 1–100 for the selected engine context. Unranked keywords are excluded from average-rank style aggregations that are documented as ranking-only.
Single vs multi search-engine context
When multiple engines or locations are selected, some views aggregate across contexts and others keep a single context. Use the engine / context picker on the project nav to control which context you are reading.
Surface pages
Every major table or KPI strip has its own metrics article under /help/knowledge-base/metrics/{slug}. In-product help deep-links to those pages (optional #column anchors).
