How to create an SEO project

Create a RankWatch SEO project with domain, search engines, locations, and an initial keyword set. Local SEO create is not available yet.

Prerequisites

  • Workspace membership with project.create
  • Primary domain and starter keyword list ready

Create a project that tracks organic rankings for a client or brand domain. Local SEO / Maps create is not available yet — choose Search engine rankings (and AI mentions only when your package includes AI Visibility).

Workspace dashboard showing tracked projects
Projects — New project opens the create wizard.

Steps

  1. Open Projects and choose New project (requires project.create).
  2. Enter the primary domain and a clear project name (agencies often use the client brand name).
  3. On objectives, select Search engine rankings. Do not rely on Local & Maps — that create path is disabled until Local SEO ships.
  4. Add search engines (start with Google), geography/locale, and result depth as needed. Leave Track subdomains on unless you only want the exact host.
  5. Add the initial keyword set (one per line or paste a list), then finish the wizard.
  6. Open the new project Overview / Rankings after the first ranking jobs complete. Add more engines later from the project, or keywords from Rankings.

Outcome

The project runs scheduled check jobs per engine. Rankings appear on Overview and Rankings after the first successful jobs. Package limits (projects, trackings, credits) still apply — see packages and feature limits.
