Citations — opportunity, explore, communities, and gap

How RankWatch AI Citations views help you find domains AI assistants cite, compare coverage vs competitors, and act on gaps.

Citations surfaces show which websites AI answers link to when responding to your tracked prompts — and where competitors win citations you do not.

Views

Opportunity

Highlights citation targets where competitors already earn links and you under-index — useful for content and digital PR prioritization.

Explore

Browse cited sites with category, coverage, citation events, share, average citation rank, and whether a site supports your brand or is owned/competitor. Categories include Brand, Competitor sites, Communities, News / PR, Reviews, Shops, Institution, and Other (overridable in project settings).

Communities

Focuses on community-style citation sources (forums, Q&A, social-style domains categorized as Communities) that repeatedly appear in AI answers.

Gap

Compares citation presence across prompts: gap prompts, competitors on those prompts, co-citation with you, and a recommended action when the product suggests one.
